Iran Tea Tasting Tour

This morning, we’ll journey north to Rasht, making a scenic stop in Rudbar, a charming town by the Sepid Rood River, from which it takes its name. Also known as Roodbar Zeitoun for its extensive olive groves, the town is famous for its high-quality olives, locally produced olive oil, and cream-hued, handcrafted carpets.

Despite its Mediterranean-like landscape, Rudbar experiences cold winters and is well-known for the strong winds of the Sepid Rood Valley (Manjil). While here, we’ll sample the delicious Zeytoon Parvardeh, a flavorful Persian dip made with olives, pomegranate, and walnuts.

Continuing our journey, we’ll visit the Gilan Rural Heritage Museum, a captivating showcase of traditional Gilan lifestyle and culture. This site provides a fascinating window into rural life, complete with authentic displays of local architecture and customs.

Next, we head to Rasht city center for a delightful meal featuring Caspian Sea specialties, such as Persian caviar, Mirza Ghasemi (smoky eggplant dip), Morgh-e Torsh (sour chicken stew), and Baghala Ghatogh (lima beans with eggs and dill).

In the afternoon, we’ll explore the vibrant Rasht Market and its bustling local fish market, filled with fresh seafood, local produce, and traditional goods — perfect for capturing vivid photos.

As evening falls, we’ll enjoy a leisurely stroll through Rasht’s pedestrian area near the historic Old Town Hall, soaking in the city's lively ambiance.

Today we leave Rasht and head to the magnificent Rudkhan Castle, an impressive medieval fortress built from brick and stone. Situated 25 km southwest of Fuman in the lush Gilan province, this historic military complex dates back to the Sasanian era. Surrounded by dense forests and set atop a scenic hill, Rudkhan Castle offers breathtaking views and a fascinating glimpse into Iran’s rich past.

Today we travel to Lahijan, one of the most prominent cities in northern Gilan province, celebrated for its tourism and agricultural significance. Nestled on the southern slopes of the Alborz Mountains, Lahijan showcases a charming blend of Iranian and European-inspired architecture.

Our day begins with an exploration of Lahijan's famous tea culture. We’ll visit lush tea farms, meet the hardworking locals who cultivate the land, and gain insight into their traditional farming methods.

Next, we’ll head to the Iran National Tea Museum, where we’ll delve into the fascinating history of tea farming and production in Iran.

Overnight Stay: Traditional Local House in Lahijan

This morning, we’ll begin by joining expert tea pickers in the lush gardens, hand-plucking tender tea leaves. We'll then take our freshly picked leaves to the factory to witness the fascinating process that transforms them into our beloved brew.

In the afternoon, we’ll head to the tasting area, where we’ll evaluate the day's production and indulge in the rich flavors of authentic Lahijan tea.

After breakfast, we'll transfer to Rasht Airport for our flight to Tehran. Upon arrival in Tehran, we’ll be greeted by our guide, enjoy a delicious lunch, and then settle into our hotel for the evening.
